The Gwinnett County Police Department reported a 25%
reduction in homicides and achieved a 100% clearance rate in 2024.
While even a single homicide is one too many, the Gwinnett County Police Department
reported a decrease in cases, with 32 homicides in 2024 compared to 40 in 2023. Investigators
credit the reduction and clearance rates to strong community support and strategic investments in
advanced technologies. This includes our real-time crime center, which constantly monitors
cameras around Gwinnett County, as well as advanced training for our detectives and crime scene
investigators. These resources have empowered detectives to solve cases successfully.
